Information About Our Polish Pottery Selections

Our stoneware pottery is imported directly from the people of Boleslawiec, Poland. Polish farmers created the traditional designs, offered on our site, with inspiration from the proud peacock. The brilliant colors added beauty and color to an otherwise plain and simple lifestyle. Over the years the technique of using handmade stencils to create the designs has become a form of art passed on to new generations. Antique pieces can be viewed at museums in Poland. Each pottery piece is decorated using a unique method of hand-stamping and is created from white clay decorated with lead-free glazes creating a durable collection. Many of the pieces offered on our site are available in 2 or 3 complimentary patterns and may be successfully combined to create of a pottery collection of your own making. Due to the uniqueness of the pottery making/painting process, no two pieces are exactly alike. All our Polish stoneware pottery is safe for use in the microwave, oven and dishwasher and the glaze is lead cadmium free.
